Sergei Rachmaninoff – Piano Concerto No. 3, Op. 30, D minor
Hector Berlioz – Symphonie Fantastique
Billboard-chart topping virtuoso Natasha Paremski makes her Springfield debut with a striking performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor.
A truly haunting piece, Symphonie Fantastique, will take place just in time for Halloween. With his signature intensity, Hector Berlioz uses music to tell the story of a love-sick artist who’s been turned away by his beloved, takes poison in an effort to kill himself, and experiences a wild series of twisted nightmares. The themes of love and loss continue in a less spooky way with Remembering Gatsby: Foxtrot for the Orchestra by John Harbison.
